2019 Midseason Report

by the Owners of The 220 Reloaded

Redskin are still fighting to remain alive in the NFC East race. Made moves to get younger and faster on the front seven. Feel we are one year off from being serious contenders in the east.

Midway through S2, the Patriots find themselves on the bye at 4-3. The bye couldn’t have come at a better time for the banged up Patriots. New England lost Brandin Cooks for 8 weeks in week 1, and then Dont’a Hightower for 8 weeks in week 3. The team managed to get to 4-3, despite the odds against them. Sensing some urgency, Mick brilliantly traded Phil Dorsett for Zach Cunningham to fill the void at MLB, a first round pick for Denver rookie WR Todd Romanowski, an upgrade on Dorsett, and then flipped 4 year back up QB Jimmy Garropolo for a first and 5th. This helped the Patriots plug up the immediate leaks while not sacrificing much of anything toward their future. Coming off the bye in week 9 with a healthy Brandin Cooks, and a favorable schedule over the next 4 weeks, the Patriots look to return to the top of the AFC East.

I think the bengals have taken a step forward this year. Sitting at 4-3 with a key win and 2-0 in my division with a statement win against the ravens early in the season. I’ve had the opportunity to build my team how I want to and it’s paying off. If We can get more consistent on run defense and stable qb play I think we can make the playoffs

Green Bay is on their way.  Packers have played solid defense through the first half the season while limiting their turnovers. Each game has been a battle but the defense is what has been saving the packers. With a 3 headed WR corp its tough to stop the packer offense. We have 4 guys on offense that can score at will.

With that said, we look forward to the second half of the season. Gotta tweak the defense as the the new patch made offense all powerful again. Its time to buckle down and get prepared for the playoffs.

The water in Buffalo NY has a 10% proof. After last game it is apparent that Bills are the first team to likely bring the infamous butt-fumble to EA. Think EA can handle it?

Blame the coach, VD, which my sources have identified stands for Vito Dung. Back to you Commish..

The acquisition of WR D.Hopkins was a commitment to get C.Wentz the best tools around him to help his development at QB. Wentz battled a serious shoulder injury but returned a week early showing how tough he is. Overall he has played better this season compared to last year and the team hopes to continue see him grow in one of the better QBs in the league. At the age of 24 and in his second year the pressure is on for him to show what type of leader he can be.

D.Hopkins leads the league in most WR categories and combines with K.Allen and Z.Ertz to be the best 1-2-3 punch at WR/TE in the league.

The trade of OT B.Brooks made room for our 3rd round draft pick at RT who has a lot of upside with his size and strength. He just needs to improve in his technique so the FA pick up M.Schofield has been a nice addition while the rookie improves.

The HB position has 4 capable guys who all excel at different things. Ex Redskin R. Kelly has been getting more playtime but the youngest of the group, Mack, has been the most consistent of the bunch and has been rewarded with the most carries so far.

Defensively the unit is playing well, ranking in the top 3 in total defense. The trade for the Honey Badger has been well worth it. He is a super versatile player who can play any position in the secondary and has elite ball-hawking skills.

The team has had some injuries at DL, notably losing DT T.Jernigan for an extended period and placed on IR. But this injury has allowed us to play our 2nd round draft pick DT M.Akins. He was buried behind a very deep DL group but now has a chance to show the coaching staff what he can do.

DE D.Barnett looks good in second year of play coming off an injury shortened season last year. DE D.Ford has played well and gotten after the QB in his first year as a starter. The underrated CB tandem of S.Jones and R.Darby continue to grow and both hope to become elite corners sooner than later.

There has been ongoing changes at the safety position opposite Mathieu. So far there has been a rotation of guys (M. Jenkins, Hall, and CB convert J.Joseph)…. Seems as if the best combination has been Jenkins and Mathieu but the decision who plays could be game by game depending on the opponent.

Overall, playing a challenging first place schedule while being in the best division in the 220 is tough. Sitting at 5-2 and staying in first place will be a challenge considering the non-forgiving schedule ahead with the Saints, Packers, Panthers, and Texans on the horizon. Not to mention we haven’t played the Cowboys yet and still have one more game vs the Redskins and Giants. Every week will be test of our teams ability to be a playoff contender and win the NFC East.

November 2, 2017

Dear Owners,

I would first like to take this time to thank all of you for another great season and encourage you all to stay as active and positive as possible.  As we continue throughout this cycle the league office will do its best to provide a fair league that will be enjoyable and competitive for all 32 owners.

With that we had requested some feedback of ideas to discuss during the off-season and I appreciate those who did send some in.  It was interesting to see how some of the feedback was the same from a few of you.  I will highlight each item below, show a rule that applies if possible and the decision made.

DL Line Movement – Many have complained about the excessive left to right movement of some owners defensive lines. It was suggested that we do away with these shifts.

DECISION MADE: We will not add an additional rule.  We will be heavily enforcing excessive line movement.

Play-Call Diversity – It was suggested that we enforce minimum Requirements for pass/run attempts and limits on screens per games.

DECISION MADE: We will not add an additional rule. We ask that owners make sure they are calling plays in a balanced way to avoid having to add limitations in the future.

Player Movement – How many players can be moved at a time

DECISION MADE: We will not change this rule.

The Trade Committee has been expanded.  We have added two additional owners and we have separated the conversation into it’s own chat.  The committee now consists of:

  • Windy
  • Fedz
  • 55
  • Krulmichael
  • Smilez

That is all I have for now.  We ask that all owner read the rules of our league and provide feedback at any time.  Please do not wait to make comments on something that is bothering as that may cause negative reactions and conversations that are detrimental to our league.  Thank you and enjoy SEASON II…

    • PROJECTED: Bills, Patriots, Dolphins, Jets
    • FINISHED: Jets, Bills, Dolphins, Patriots
Gordow took over the division, Horne is still finding his stride while dahook and Mick struggled this season. This division will probably be turned upside down next season.
    • PROJECTED: Chiefs, Chargers, Raiders, Broncos
    • FINISHED: Chiefs, Chargers, Broncos, Raiders
Primo and his cheap, stat padding game took over the #1 spot in the AFC. Money Matt ended the season on a 6 game losing streak, allegedly to a broke middle finger. Gero is blastin foolz in chat while Kaz is being busy.
    • PROJECTED: Ravens, Bengals, Browns, Steelers
    • FINISHED: Bengals, Steelers, Browns, Ravens
Scro showed he wasn’t fake news. Shayn found his groove, while Kro did decent in his first 220 season. Stone Cold was just downright disappointing.

    • PROJECTED: Colts, Jaguars, Texans, Titans
    • FINISHED: Colts (new ownership), Jaguars, Texans, Titans
Projected this one right on point, and we saw whatever his name was booted from the CFM. Smitty has walked into a gold mine and just has to go ball, Brye is good enough to make a run. Gangsta and Bigg finished with respectable records as the whole division was .500 or better.
    • PROJECTED: Cowboys, Giants, Eagles, Redskins
    • FINISHED: Cowboys, Eagles, Giants, Redskins
A pretty weak division which saw the Eagles change owners and all they need to do was win one game but they skidded on a 5 game losing streak to end the year and Dallas took the playoff spot. Al finished 6-10 and Skins went 4-12.
    • PROJECTED: Vikings, Lions, Packers, Bears
    • FINISHED: Vikings, Packers, Lions, Bears
Darden and Co. control the North and have put a stranglehold on the rest of the division as they play for second place. Another division where everyone is .500 besides the Vikings at 11-5.

    • PROJECTED: Rams, Cardinals, Niners, Seahawks
    • FINISHED: Rams, Niners, Seahawks, Cardinals
Rams ended as the #2 team in the NFC, while Realist won 7 in a row to get into the playoffs and something telling me that he wouldn’t make the playoffs with stuff happening around him. Seahawks went 5-11 while SM went 4-12 and playing at the last possible moment every advance.

    • PROJECTED: Buccaneers, Saints, Panthers, Falcons
    • FINISHED: Buccaneers, Saints, Panthers, Falcons
BB had a superb season as he locked up the #1 team in the NFC. Blake and the Saints came on strong to get into the playoffs while epi finished 8-8 and Rhude struggles and crawled to a 3-13 year.

Power rankings week 16

This is being written with games still need to be played in week 16.  Two things I want to do in this small short report, MY OWN power rankings and MY OWN sim rankings. Sim is a weird term; it means one thing to one and something totally different to 31 other people. So these are my thoughts only and what I think sim is. So take it with a grain of salt, make your own if you like, either way, love’em or hate’em I’m gonna rank the TOP 6 sim players in my eyes. But first, The Power Rankings:

1. Bucs: It’s his to lose, I am in the minority on BB’s offense. Spam the RB …why not ….give the ball to your best guy …but his offense is deadly enough …will he choke in the playoffs ? Who knows but he is number 1 as of now

2. Chiefs: I never give this guy no love,( fag ) but I guess his record makes me do it this time around. I haven’t played him in a while but his record speaks for itself. He is winning games and getting ready for that SB run. Can he win 2 in one cycle in 220?

3. Vikes: Even though he is on a slight skid …..I think he is still on top. Tough defense with a good run game he will make the SB or be one and done.

4. Rams: Mr. control the safety himself comes out as the big head everyone loves to hate. Why is it that way? Who knows….but his record speaks for itself and he is the defending chump. Can he make a run? Doubt it ……but he gets lucky so who knows.

5. Colts: Hmmmmm tough one…. new owner but record is still decent. Lets see what happens once the playoffs start. (Never played him so I am going off nothing at all)

6. Bengals: Played him once a while back, at 9 wins so far seems to be a lock for playoffs…. can he get past primo? That will be the key. You can do it!

7. Jags: Never played him …seems decent with that record….can he make noise in the playoffs? Again primo is the guy to beat…….

8. Eagles: Sliding all the way down with a new Coach…. see what I did there…. oh oh will he choke it all away.

9. 49ers: Sneaking up on people. He has always been decent but now his team is set and ready to make noise in the playoffs. Its either one and done or SB winner …yup SB winner.

10. It’s tough for this one …Jets or Chargers…ill go with JETS since Gordow beat me. Can he finally make the playoffs??? I think so…. Welcome emo Jets after he is one and done !!!

  • Bottom feeders: Cards, getting a grove back
  • Falcons: Cmon bruh….you are giving us old guys a bad name. Get ya game up (wanna trade ?)
  • Ravens: SC – you are killing me, you are better than your record
  • Pats: Sup with 3 wins…you are tough on offense and surprisingly sim in my eyes. Tank maybe?
  • Raiders: Kaz you were so good last cycle, what happen man ?

  1. Realist
  2. Bigbucs
  3. DjRhude
  4. Smilez
  5. Mick
  6. Scrotal recall

I could defend this list but eh, ill just say whenever I play these guys its tough. They mix it up enough and call plays diversly on both offense and defense, didn’t see any abuse or trick gimmicks from any of these guys. I could also add Krul and Windy since we play all the time but I am bitter since I lost to both of them. But these guys, in my mind mix it up so much that it’s hard to call a good 3rd down defense.

Again sim is a unique word. If you don’t agree with this list …make your own. If you think you deserve to be on this list…lets play and ill give you my honest opinion….also am I SIM GOD…nope…not at all but I do try and play a sim style without resorting to trick gimmicks. I will also never run Cover 4 a whole drive either. But I am not perfect and will gladly take shots at my game. Go ahead I’m a big boy, do it.

Well hope you enjoy these …and if you didn’t…. well fuck it don’t read’em next time.

Disclaimer: There are a few guys I have not played… also a few guys I have not played since season I and my old memory can’t recall all of my games.

Not even sure who will be in it …but ill list my Conference champion game:

  • AFC Title game: Chiefs vs Colts
  • NFC Title Game: Bucs vs Vikes

Of course these teams could play before the title game since I have no clue of seeding’s but I will be too lazy to write up another prediction one later. Please note these were done before week 16 was finished and updated.

Jhorne is my preseason pick; it is time to take it from the Patriots.

  1. Bills
  2. Patriots
  3. Dolphins
  4. Jets

Chiefs and Chargers will continue to lead the way. Gero will have more time and we will see how grand of a rebuilding job he will do in Denver. Kaz is good if he keeps his head into it but has fallen of recently.

  1. Chiefs
  2. Chargers
  3. Raiders
  4. Broncos

This is a weird division where Shayn used to be king. A toss up of a division and my wildcard is the Bot of Kro. Krobot joins us, as the Browns he will be solid and be in just about every game but will throw too many picks to get over the hump.

  1. Ravens
  2. Bengals
  3. Browns
  4. Steelers

Division dominated by the Colts who haven’t lost very much, hardly at all but have yet to win the BIG game. They will continue to lead the division but the Jaguars are hot on the trail.

  1. Colts
  2. Jaguars
  3. Texans
  4. Titans

Can the Giants and Philadelphia rise up and take this division from Dallas? Kman has been heartbroken twice in the playoffs and very well could have been the NFC rep in the Super Bowl.

  1. Cowboys
  2. Giants
  3. Eagles
  4. Redskins

I would say the most competitive division so far in M17 220 history. Vikings, Lions and Packers all made the playoffs and have represented the NFC in the SB so far. A toss up in who wins the division but I think Smilez and the Vikings have come to establish dominance.

  1. Vikings
  2. Lions
  3. Packers
  4. Bears

Two years and one SB from the division leading Rams but that doesn’t make them an automatic write in because the Cardinals have made some moves this offseason and they can compete with anyone as they have taken the undefeated souls of the Rams and Colts in back to back years. Niners will always be a threat as “Father GOAT” controls them but whether his heart is in madden or 2K remains to be determined. Seattle shows and disappears.

  1. Rams
  2. Cardinals
  3. Niners
  4. Seahawks

The old gang division. 220 is still waiting for the Bucs breakthrough SB appearance and win. Carolina can contend but sometimes too stubborn for their own good. Falcons are done, Julio traded end of story. Saints are the dark horse.

  1. Buccaneers
  2. Saints
  3. Panthers
  4. Falcons

  • How do the Colts bounce back?
  • Do the Rams repeat?
  • Can primo lift his finger with his season 1 ring and get back to the SB?
  • Can BB get the damn monkey off his back, no.
  • How do the Cowboys come back after two straight heartbreaking losses in the playoffs?
  • Will the Jaguars rise up and take it to the Colts
  • How does Krobot come in and do with the Browns?
  • Do we see the old Gs rise up and make the playoffs: Giants, Niners, Falcons, Bears.
  • Saints and Panthers are on the brink, what do they do?
  • Does Fedz and the Packers prove Year 1 wasn’t a fluke and get back to Championship

My surprise teams:
Bills, Jets, Eagles, Broncos

My dark horse: Saints
